The Italian medical device authority has informed Swissmedic of the discovery of counterfeit BIO-GEN CORTICAL BONE bone substitutes from Bioteck S.p.A. used in dentistry. The components of these counterfeit products are not yet known and health risks cannot be excluded. They should not be used under any circumstances.
It is also possible that counterfeit products are being offered for sale in Switzerland.
